What is Poker Staking?

Poker staking is a way of minimizing the amount of risk players take by having other people invest in them. The investor takes all of the potential losses and the profit is split between the stakee and the investor. The basic process is this:

1) Winning player does not want to handle the variance/swings that poker can sometimes bring. This can occur at any point in a player’s career (big downswing, big life expenses, uncomfortable playing at a higher level, etc). Winning player then applies for a stake.

2) Investors look over application and then decide to stake the player.

3) Investors discuss the deal (rake back %, total split (profits at table), hand total, etc) and then sign the contract.

4) Investors give the player the money and the player begins his play.

About My Stable:

We have a very strong support system for all of our stakees, with a private forum and skype group that are all very active. Additionally, we provide free coaching calls once a week. For me personally, I answer any hand history questions that my stakees have and am open to analyzing any videos that my stakees have made as well.

We’ve had many players who have found a great deal of success. If staking sounds appealing to you, please check this thread: Poker Staking

    Hi Orange,

I used to be a fairly successful online poker player back when Full Tilt and Poker Stars where available. Since then I have only been able to play some online poker on Merge, Bovada, and some home games. Question: what do you look for in someone you are trying to stake? What does the application look like? I am mainly interested in this to help my own game.

    Hey Chris,

I would say that stakers typically look for two main factors: Is the player a winner? (And then the sample sizes/stakes/etc) and also what type of reputation he has in the poker community (who can vouch for you? References? Etc.).

The application can be seen in the link here-

My Name is Max R and I am from Germany. I am looking for a staking as I had to withdrawl my entire BR to move into my first own flat. I am studying Fiscal Economics at an University in the Netherlands as my Hometown is located near the dutch boarder. I played Plo25 for a long time now mixing it with Plo mtts. I am not able to offer a big sample as i struggled against using tracking software for a long time, what I in retrospect regret a lot, as I consider its support and even more the use for review as very helpful. Anyway here the links to my Graps:

I am easily able to play about 60k hands per month. Regarding to the fact why I did not move up stakes in the past I have to mention, that I often had to withdrawl amounts for paying tuition fees or cost of living at all. As a consequence thereof I stayed within my comfort level to protect myself from playing on scared money.

    Screens are: TOMtheCAT041 888/Pokerstars
    LaberNit: Titan
    LeBanner21: Everest

Although the sample I am able to show is small, I am looking forward for your reply.

    With kind regards,

    Max R
