our season ended this past sunday…not really much to say, only that we got dismantled by a very good team. i thought we had a good chance when their first possession began with them getting a safety (and us getting 2 points + the ball)…but it was not to last. we failed to produce the great pass rush that we had at the start, and their QB picked us apart (i played corner this past week and got burned twice…disappointing, since one of them i was in great position to make a play at the ball but instead got greedy and tried to pick it instead of knocking it away). the guy was fucking insane, reminded me of a speedy version of donkey kong.
anyways, yeah, we got crushed. there was a lot of bitterness but it probably wasn’t super unexpected. after last week when we laid an egg, we knew that we weren’t really working with a great game plan. from what we’ve seen-
-we’re just as athletic across the board with any of these teams…that is, we’re just as fast, can catch and throw and jump just as well as any team. but like any team sport, we need to gel it together. we really did not play well as a team…our offensive game plan was all over the place, we had some execution problems (where we dropped passes or blew coverage), etc. i think we’re going to try and practice alot for next season (in the coming spring), get a good offensive game plan and more importantly, the timing between QB and WRs down.
kindve sucks that this flag league is over. i enjoyed and looked forward to each game week by week. so whatever…just gotta get better.
just booked my SEC champ game tickets, plane, hotel…really pumped about going. Never been to the Georgia Dome and I think it’ll be alot of fun. Total for the trip is probably going to come out to something like $1200 or so (maybe $100 more)…meh. it’s a good amount but not completely huge. it could be a game of historic proportions, in that the two teams may be undefeated when they meet, something that hasn’t happened before (though, conference championships have only been going since like…1992 or something, but still, cool regardless).
UF hasn’t looked fantastic lately but meh…i think we’ll get it together before the big game. i guess i could write a fucking book on what i think UF should do and the overall outlook on our team right now, but meh, i think i’ll wait on it.
